Kydex staples/clips?

I know that traditionally rivets are used to secure Kydex sheaths because they are the most secure. I would imagine stitching would eventually fail. I'm wondering if anyone has developed Kydex staples. I wouldn't staple them through the Kydex but clip them on the outside. So maybe Kydex clips would be a better term. I would love to make kydex sheaths with a narrower profile without all that extra material hanging out.

I have never heard of such a thing ?
I am also not sure how much width you would save going that way.

Tom Maringer years ago developed a no eyelet kydex sheath and did a awesome job of it.

I contacted him years ago to ask about using my spin on the idea for a customer and he said no problem just give him credit for the original idea.
Which of course I did :)

It was a giant pain in the rear and really it only saved about 3/8" in width and the edge of the blade rubbing against the kydex could dull the edge.

the extra work (lots of extra work) and some of the negatives made me not want to pursue it any longer.

I think Staples or clips would be much the same.

That's definitely a cool looking sheath! I wasn't sure if there was such a thing and it may be that it would't save that much on width. What I was thinking of is more simple than that that's pictured above. I would imagine some sort of staple gun that would pinch them on the outside of the kydex. I would want it to be a system that made making the sheaths more easy to make.
