How thick do you guys get your kydex for cases and sheaths? I'm looking at getting a 12"x12"x.060 piece of kydex just to experiment with and see if its something I want to use as sheath material.

I use .080 for sheaths. I have tried .060 twice and found that I prefer the .080 even for smaller knives, the .093 and .120 I only use for clips and belt loops.

I've been using .093 for all fixed blades for over 20 years. .080 will still flex too much for my applications.
.

My sheaths will all be under 8 inches (6 inch max blade length). Is .080 still to thin for this length? I know its probability a moot point since kydex is so cheap, I just want the best I can get for the best price....dont we all :)

I have made a couple for my Rodent 9 out of .080 with no problems at all.I am planning on trying some .093.
IMO of sheaths I have had .080 and .093 have both had the this is a well made heavy duty sheath FEEL to them if you know what I mean.
.060 on the couple I have owned had the cheap plastic feel to them.
