Kydex too tight on the blade?

I've started playing around with kydex and I noticed that the sheaths I made are so tight against the blade that it leaves polish marks on the blade. What's a good way to avoid marring the blade but not end up with a rattling loose sheath?

I did find a few scratches but that came from improper cleaning after I shaped the sheath. Lesson learned there. I guess some abrasive material from the sandpaper ended up inside and I didn't get it all out.

Thanks,

Dan

I'm somewhat new as well, and what I've found that works is slow re-heating and working the knife in and out for a good fit.

Put a few layers of tape on your blade before you wrap it with kydex, tape it length ways so you don't see the tape marks. You can loosen it the same way, put the taped knife in the ready made sheath and warm up the kydex a little.

if you have a heat gun, slowly wave it over it like you're airbrushing (while the knife is IN the sheath). do this until it softens up, a little, then draw and re-sheath the knife a few times while the sheath is cooling. doing it this way, you can get exactly the amount of retention you want.

here's the down side - regardless of what anyone tells you, KYDEX WILL SCRATCH with or without debris in between the sheath and blade.
