Kydex Upgrade: Tops Ferret

I was recently given a Tops Ferret in a trade of sorts. It's an all around great back up blade - but the Kydex sheath that came with it was just lacking in the grit that I needed...

It was also lacking in a sufficient way to wear it - unless hanging from the neck or concealed in the armpit (which I did for a day... and It just got weird).

So I made a new one...

For the new sheath, I bent over a length of the Kydex over the back (which you can't see) to make it easier to store on my belt, pack, or if the dog wants to carry it - he can too..

That's nicely done, looks like you have much more retention, without compromising accessibility!

Yeah, the old sheath just let the knife slip out...

This has a lot better retention, and the cut-a-way on the side lets me slip it out fairly easy..

I love working with Kydex, although - I am not so sure how much my wife likes me heating it up in the oven...
