Planing to make my own sheath for a big knife but don't which is the better material choice? Does anybody has any feed back for the above products? Which is stronger? Advantages and disadvantages....Thanks.

kee :)

They both are good to form into a sheath for holding a knife, but concealex can make the knife invisible.

I've been having all my knives sheathed in Revealex, just so I can find them after I put them down.

Hey Guys...

Thanks for the link TOK...

However,, please keep in mind,, these are only my Experiences, and Observations working with both plastics.. I'm not a chemist, and don't know the chemical makeup of either plastics..

Both plastics are similar ,both are thermal forming plastics widely used in the indusrty. Kydex is more widely used I suspect because it has been around longer..

Also some people can not handle,,or dislike the behavior(curling) of Concealex during the heating stage.. The sheath makers I know that use it,, use these characteristics to their advantage...

I guess the difference in working with the two plastics needs to be experienced..

I prefer Concealex, because it does Everything I need it to, does it well,,and out of the nearly 20,000+ sheaths I've made from it,, it's worked out pretty good.I'm happy with it,,and will use nothing else.

Try both and see which one you like better...

Good luck..

Eric....

If my memory serves me right...

- Concealex if you are carrying in moderate temperatures.

- Kydex if you are carrying in cold climates.
