I'm starting to play around with kydex. I was just wondering if anyone had suggestions on what to use on the edges to give it a more finished look.

After riveting it together? A polishing wheel with the right compound and a steady even hand to give it an even look should do the trick. That is assuming you already have the edge ready to finish. Pics would help to show what you are currently doing or how you edges look.

Yeah I got the rivet in, and best I know I was using a box cutter to line up the married edges. I was thinking about using a dremel. I'll get pics up after I get out of work. Thanx for any input you may have. :)

Mark the edges with a washable marker and use some type of sander, preferably one with a larger wheel than a dremel. If the dremel was all you had it would do but not as easy to get a nice flat side like you have or good radius curves, in my experience. Even some sand paper mounted to a piece of wood and some elbow grease could clean that up.

Since we are talking kydex and not knives, General Knife is not the best place for this. Let's go to sheathes and such, it's a better place for this kind of topic overall.

I use my belt sander, then hand sand with 220grit paper. After that, I go over the edge with a maroon colored Scotch brite wheel on my buffer. Last thing is wiping it down with ArmourAll (it evens out the color).

I use a really worn belt on my belt sander to polish and even out the edges, then a buffing wheel to finish.
