I think i have asked this before but here it goes. I want to make kydex sheaths for the knives i am making. is there a good tutorial out there? Also what is the bare minimum i need tool wise to make these sheaths. Thanks.

ok don't respond here. i found where i asked this question before and received help but i am unable, for some reason, to delete this message. sorry.

I put my Kydex on a little grill of the type they sell for 5 gal paint buckets, and heat the kydex with a Wagner heat gun until it is floppy. I use two layers of old camping ensolite on either side of the sheath, and use boards to press down.

I drill my holes with the drill press, and smash in my rivets with a hand held die and hammer. You can also use Chicago screws, or pound in rivets.

I buff the plastic edges with a linen belt.

The only problem I have had is getting the pattern of the concealex lined up all around. With kydex I don't suppose it maters too much.

Since you can reheat the material if things don't go right the first time, it's just as well to jump in with it and see what happens.

With your first few sheaths leave a generous border for rivets and handling, and you should find it incredibly easy. I keep dreaming up new uses for the Kydex. Very handy stuff.
