I am interested in learning how to make kydes sheaths/holsters for knives, flashlights, and guns. Does anyone know of any good articles that I can read on the subject? What are some good places to buy materials? If I ever get good enough I would be happy to make some sheaths for bladeforums members.:D

use the search function (Click "advanced search") and search the Toolshed forum for "sheath" or "Kydex". Lots of threads about this there.

TRS Direct is just starting to release a 3 DVD set, with workbook, called "Kitchen Kydex" that Bob Taylor talked me into doing almost a couple years ago. It goes from "low-tech, no tech", as for a hobbyist just wanting to save some money and have his gear just the way he wants it, all the way up to building a press and outputting a high quality product, such as a knifemaker wanting to give his clients more than a "knife holder". Also show how to make an IWB pistol holster and gave away a design pattern that lets you do a lot of straight walled tools that have nothing to lock to - think multi tool, pistol magazine. Honest effort to give lotsa tips, tricks, and secrets.
