So I like the 4 sheath, as I mentioned in my review thread, but I dont care for handle snaps. So I went and made a kydex/nylon hybrid out of it it. I love it just from a few minutes of using it.

Enuff of my drivel, on to pics!

It still needs to be polished and final-sanded...but the function is perfect, I am pleased.

When working with a shaving sharp machax...and using a open kydex ''sheath'' keep ur fingers off the blade! I made a slight error and sunk the 4 to the bone. A lil pressure, gauze and tape...and I managed to finish it up.

The Tee section of the kydex slides down between the sheath and the sheath's blade liner.

Here's a video demonstration of how it works.

Damn, at least when I stabbed myself with my 16, I was playing with the knife, not the sheath! Looks good though. :D

Good job and way to think outside of the box.

...and to quote myself playing any FPS: "Medic, MEDIIIIIC" :D

Damn.

And I just saw your quote, and about pissed myself. I had forgotten about that one for a minute. Now I remember why my laff muscles were sore for 3 days.

Cool mod. Regarding the blood..........I keep tape, gauze and superglue near me at all times when handling sharp objects. Almost every sheath I make shares a little of my blood. I'm just a danger to myself when it comes to sharp object!.

Cheers

The vid does work bro, linked me right to it. Looks like the thing works good I don't think you'll ever have to worry about your Machax popping out, at least your blood sacrifice was worth it!

Holy Sh*t Thrill! How did that not happen at the gathering. Now you know why everybody backed up 10 ft. Everytime you picked up a knife! Lol!

Not really sure how I should reply, nice mod, heal fast , sorry just a little quizie!

LOL! I dont cut myself USING my knives..always when I'm WORKING on them.

that was freakin hilarious how y'all were so jumpy all weekend though... lmao

That is a real slick idea there Clayton. I like my Machax sheath a lot, and I don't mind the snaps too much. But I don't like how the handle slides up exposing about 1/2 inch of edge. Your invention looks like would also stop that problem as well.

Heck of a setup you got there man. Very nicely done!

Sweet mod man, hope your ok, just think when a kami makes a khukuri sometimes they bless them with blood, and with the 4 looking somewhat like a khuk, she is now blessed. Heal fast bro and damn good job.
