It was nice to hear from Kyle that my name was up on his order list. We sat down together in December, picked out a nice piece of sambar stag he brought back from Little Rock last year, drew up a plan, and here is younger brother's image of Kyle's work.

A 7-inch W-2 blade on this fighter, clay treated hamon, 3,500 grit hand rubbed finish. Fittings are mosaic two bar twist damascus, a grooved ladder pattern spacer with coined German silver liners. Take down constuction.

Two talented brothers. Thanks, Kyle and Caleb.

Very nice knife! His quality became really outstanding so fast. As good as it gets.. Enjoy it Joe. And display it!

He sure put that primo stag to good use - gorgeous knife! Congrats Joe.

I'd like to see a close up showing the butcap and where the stag meets it. Also the ladder part if possible..?

Hope you can keep track of the pieces and how they go together on this nice knife. No sheath yet?

I love the idea and utility of a takedown, if there is a handle issue later it is much easier to just change it out, but as Murray mentioned I'd be wary of how to put it back together and losing a small pin.

Not that this will stop me from getting a takedown in the future but it will most likely not be taken apart by myself.

Solid knife from a solid maker, i am very picky about stag but your choice of sambar stag was where I would have gone with it!

Good eye Joe!

Jon, I'll see what I can do this evening with my camera.

Murray, a sheath from South Texas will be forthcoming.

Thanks for all the comments. Kyle and I sat together at a 2-day knifemaking class when he was 16 years old. I have been admiring his skills ever since.

My favorite size for a Bowie and absolutely beautiful. Great score, Joe.

That's an absolute beauty, Joe.

Kyle's taken a fantastic piece of stag and really done it and you proud.

I love the guard... and in combination with the stag, despite the overall simplicity of the knife it seems very original in many ways.

Hey Joe,

Thanks for posting it here! I'm glad you like it too. It has been an absolute pleasure working with you yet again, from start to finish! :D I hope you will get many years of enjoyment out of it. Nice stag choice too! ;) It's really cool that you live so close too! If you ever want to come down to the shop give me a day or two head notice to clean up and come on down.

Also, thanks for all the compliments everyone! :) You all are too great! Thanks again for all the kind words.

man thats really a perfect little carry Bowie/Fighter, amazing work from all angles!

Stunning. Congrats Joe and Kyle.

I'll tuck this pic away, if you don't mind Joe, for when my number comes up with Kyle, sometime in 2014!.... That is some sweet knife! Impeccable work Kyle!
