Hiya guys,
First post on here so firstly a quick hello and thanks for having me.

Today i got my first Kyocera knives. I have always wanted to try these ceramic knives so treated myself.
I got these but passed on the choice to get the cutting mat. Being new to this knife world , should i have bought it to help maintain the knives or would any other cutting board be suitable?

Thanks guys

1) Do not cut bones with ceramic knives, they will chip
2) Do not cut frosen food with ceramic knives, they will chip
3) Dont throw them in the sink or on the floor, they will shatter or chip
4) Best cutting board is end grain, but you will do fine with plastic boards bought on IKEA
5) Wash the knives after use

Ceramic knives are light, and easy to clean and holds the edge very good. There are ways to sharpen them, but its expensive. Rather buy a new one if your edge is dull. You can use it on anything and do not stain the food. However, they are brittle so they chip very easily. Enjoy

Don't use glass cutting boards. If anything, you might want to pretend as though you're cutting with a piece of glass. Take great care that there isn't any dirt in whatever you're cutting(I believe onion roots would be a big no-no).
