Derek got here today at 6 am to make a knife. He wanted an EDC Kephart with osage handles, so after showing him a few things, I turned him loose in the shop. All I can say is that he is a quick learner, he did 95% of the work, and the knife turned out pretty darn good. Here are some photos from the day.

Sweet! I can check it out in the morning!

I have my stuff mostly ready to go. I am bringing a surprise for you all - a case of my own home-brewed Scottish Ale. :^)

See you in the morning -

best regards -

Buddy, it looks like you are having way too much fun to me! That came out sweet! Isn't that Osage just the greatest stuff? You really should have been wearing a mask while you were working with that Osage! That is nasty stuff when you get it in your lungs, and it doesn't come out! Always, safety first in the shop! Really nice job though! I can't wait to see that, the next time we can get together! I hope you didn't use up all of that Osage? Ha! Ha!

All you guys take care, stay safe, and have a good time today!

Thanks to John for taking the day to tutor me on knife making, and for taking a few photos. The osage came off the family farm.

I got to brake it in at the MI gathering. Cutting wood and steak!!! Thanks to jds1 for hosting us.
