Hello :)

I would like some expert opinions on this swords authenticity as I am having trouble finding a similar looking sword.
I think Army/Navy Kyu-Gunto is the most probable, (or a repro of course).

Great : )

Seems to be plenty of variation in the manufacture of these type of swords.
Would I be correct in thinking the end nut is the only part keeping the handle on the blade since there is no mekugi pins visible?

(The type 32 " http://www.ohmura-study.net/801.html " is rather straigthforward in disassembly at least.)

Yes, most of the tsuka on those are held in place by the nut on the end. The tang will look much different than a traditional nakago. They are tapered and threaded. Occasionally you see an older blade which has been put in these mounts and held by a mekugi pin.
