L-6

Jay/stihl: Brought over a couple off pieces of L-6 this past weekend. What would be the proper method to prepare it for grinding? Anneal it in my forge 1st then profile> Also heat treat as O-1?

You aneal it then heat treat it as l-6 it is a little different than o-1 in the sence that if it get's too hot (over 1450 to 1475 you will develope hard spot's and if you temper higher than 400 the edge flakes off badly I only take My l-6 to 375,max unless I am making a spring then I go to 500 max or it's too soft for a spring
