I bought my first L. T. Wright GNS in magnacut and upon the very first use on a piece of soft wood the edge just chipped like crazy has anyone else ever experienced this issue with either the maker or the steel ?

Nope - that's pretty surprising to hear. But have you contacted LTW? I would assume that they will make it right.

Do you have the means to measure bte thickness, and secondary grind angles?

I've called them in the past and they answered the phone. Mine wasn't qc but a custom firesteel question they were great to deal with. If you can't stand to wait any longer give them a call. Either way I bet they take care of you.

I don’t know how to upload a picture
You can upload to a website like imgur, there are plenty of guides available with a simple google search. You can also link Instagram pictures if you're used to using IG.

Yes they said they’ve had a few chips with the new steel and that I could send it in for them to test heat treat and sharpen it but I think I’m gonna sharpen it and try again before I do just to make sure it’s not from belt sharpening
Good to hear!!👏
LT and gang are real good people!! 👍😁👍
