L85?

The one that goes with the SA-80 Rifle? Let me know if you want one I am sure I can get one at a fair price. As to maker I think it is one of the Knife makers in Shefield. I will ask around see if anyone knows.

I know someone who owns a 'blank' version of this knife that is a pressed mould of the knife as it came out of the machine. It has not been finished in any way etc, quite an interesting thing to see.

I'm not sure.

It has a slightly curved grip and what looks like rubber handles.
I've only seen picks of one in it's sheath.

I'll see if I can find the pick to help you out.

Ok that will help!

If it is the one I am thinking about it has a section near the hilt with what can be best described as 'sort of serrations' used for dressing animals. The knife joins with the scabbard to make a wire cutter and the scabard has some kind of saw blade thingy with it.

My Army friends report the knife holds a reasonable edge but is prone to breaking in half!

Perhaps over tempered 440a or similar?

I just reserved a F/ Sykes Commando knife for myself the other day with a new contact who specialises in military edged stuff. It is the model with the gold plated handle and polished blade. Looks stunning!

Let me know if you want me to ask him, I must admit I would not mind getting one of these bayonets myself.

I hear the SLR bayonet is rather nice also.
