Hey guys how are yah

I just got a La Griffe and love the thing as a neck knife.
I then placed a small tek lok on it, but found out that I couldn't carry in my favourite manner near the middle of my back)

The reason is you can only use one side of the kydex sheath and not the other side, because of the way the sheath is made. Did anyone else have these problems, and what are you solutions to it. It's just surprising how good of knife this is and that both sides of the sheath cannot be used for multiple carry options.

Please understand I really do not want to pay for custom kydex sheath since this is a good sheath.

take care & appreciate any help you can provide

Yeah, but sometimes we can slove problems by trying other options. Hmmm.......try this site. This guys makes a multi-carry sheath for the La Griffe just scroll down. Maybe that will help.

P.S. The La Griffe is a badass knife. I have had mine for a year and love it!

The knife is a chisel grind... so do you mean it doesn't work for you because one side of the sheath is flat and the other is raised?

Try using spacers on the raised side if that is the problem. Rubber "00" washers should do the trick.

to be honest best advice is to revise your carry method, you really want the la griffe infront of your hip or near the belt buckle, not round the back. Its a small fast knife that should be deployed in a flash, having to reach round the back to deploy or re-sheath it is not the best idea, even if its used for utility and not defence.

If you have trouble with the sheath being the "wrong way round" you can try putting it on the inside of the belt or pants instead of the out side. This will mean the sheath is in between the tek-lok and you rather than the other way round. If that makes sense ?
An other option, and the one i use, is to make a kydex belt loop for it. I find this is much better that a tek-lok as it fits much tighter and closer to the body and can be put on either side of the sheath with no problems. Kydex is not expensive and is easy to work with so its a good option. You could also use the paracord sheath retainer method, this is good for a quick draw and can be stashed in a pocket (if you have d-rings in you jacket pocket) or attached to your belt or belt loop on your pants and just tucked inside with enough handle showing for solid deploy.

hope this helps

 I carry most of my sheath knives attached to my belt in this manner:

Thanks for all help guys. I'm quite happy trying the advise of the last poster, but i will still try to make a belt loop for the la griffe later and try that method as well. thanks and take care
