La Griffe Questions

I'm going on a rafting trip in June so I am using it as an excuse to buy a La Griffe. I have a couple questions:

Do you wear it under all shirts]t-shirts and stuff] next to your skin? If so, how do you draw it? Is the blade shape useful for everyday use, too?

Thanks.

I carry mine under my shirt. Drawing it is as simple as grabing my shirt at the navel and jerking it upwards and reaching under with my primary to retrieve the knife. Pretty damn fast considering.

I wouldn't want to whittle or make dinner with it, but it can handle small cutting tasks.

The LaGriffe is a great neck knife. Very simple to draw and slip back into it's Kydex sheath. I think they also make one with a blunt tip with rafters in mind...

Emerson has what they call the Whitewater Le Griffe. In stock at www.BladeArt.com, give me a call!

A note of caution:
If you withdraw the LaGriffe without pulling shirt away from your body, make sure it's not turned inward. A while back I pulled it out fast to show somebody and I could feel the curved point scratch the whole way down my chest and stomach. Of course,I had to act like nothing happened, but when I got a chance to look, I had a nice scratch all the way down. I realized that if I had it turned just a little more, would have opened me up like a zipper.

Lifter, be glad Dozier doesn't make neck knives or you would have performed open heart surgery on yourself along with an appendectomy! Bob's knives are scary sharp. Dick
