Hey all. I'm new to the forum, and been trying to digest everything in the tips thread. I have a hiking trip coming up and thought it would be a great opportunity to take the plunge. I've been eyeing khukuris for some time now, though mostly at the *cough* other forum.

I sent mail through the forum, is that correct? I saw different addresses on the shop site vs. the HI site. If I messed up the specials contact, I figure I may as well find out now ;)

Thanks! This place reminds me of a shop nearby. The owner travels to Tibet regularly and ships back all kinds of unique furniture and artwork. The craftsmanship and detail is simply amazing, not to mention the stories that accompany them.

I'm generally pretty quiet on forums, but nice to meet you :)

SPRING GREEN????

Ever have a great country breakfast at the Clyde Cafe?

Not sure it is open now. One of the former owners made a country breakfast of ham, sausage, bacon, pancakes, eggs, country toast, and hash-browns that had me collecting other cycle riders just to use the Clyde Cafe as a destination.

When asked if we wanted "ham, bacon, or sausage," the answer was "Yes." :)

We live in one of the great places on earth.

I haven't been there yet, but I'll have to soon :) I'm renting right now between Spring Green and Lone Rock. I just moved a little less than a year ago, and there is definitely something magic about the river valley.

Unfortunately I'm moving. Not far, but still outside the valley, near Blanchardville. 43 miles from Spring Green to work is rough, both on my car and my free time. I got an offer accepted on a house down there, so I'm taking the plunge. It's scary heh.

I don't know what area you're in, but if you like kayaking/canoing/hiking or whatever, PM me. I'm always looking for reasons to avoid housework on weekends.

(and to make this on topic, I took the ganga ;) )
