Happy Labor Day, all! Hoping that you're able to take advantage of a day off work.

Here's my every day working knife, an old Henckels International Stockman. It gets used for all the things a knife will do, and a fair few that it shouldn't... I don't recall when this photo was taken, but it was obviously after a good cleanup :D.

What do your working knives look like?

This Ulster scout is the single workin'est knife I've ever owned. I got it when I was around 8-9 years old in the early '60s, and still use it all the time.

I got this BuckLite #424 in 1988, and it's still in service. It now resides on my kitchen counter for quick access. I broke the tip off about 25 years ago, and reground it back into shape. For decades it was my companion on quail hunting expeditions, as it is very light in the pocket.

This OD green alox Cadet has been with me for over 5 years now, in pocket for at least 90% of the time. The alox has lost a little color, but none of it's luster . . . in my eyes!

I guess I've carried this #35 Churchill as much or more than any of my other GECs. I carry a stockman more often, but have so many of them that none gets a lot of use.

And lastly I have to show my Guardians' ebony lambfoot. In the 14 months since I received it, it's been in pocket about 75% of the time, and done a heap of cutting. I never thought a single blade could be so utilitarian, but this one certainly is.

The two knives that I own that have seen the most work by me are my Victorinox Small Tinker and an Old Timer 34OT. The SAK I bought in 1989 or ‘90 after I lost my first 34OT in the Marines. They were both carried by me and used for anything a knife was used for, and as you said, things they weren’t supposed to be used for.

Thought I’d show Grandads last working knife that he carried for as long as I remember. God only knows what he used it for but I can tell you he always kept them sharp and would use a knife pretty much daily.

These are my two hardest working knives:

The A. Wright buffalo horn lambsfoot is in my pocket much more often than not and handles any cutting tasks that pop up during the day. It loves to break down cardboard boxes.

The Marttiini Lynx Lumberjack Carbon puts in a lot of work in my yard and garage. Sometimes it takes a turn at greenwood carving as a break from work.
