Life goes on there much as it has for thousands of years.:)

There is definitely a certain peacefulness in that. Summer follows spring, as it has for millennia. Not something you usually experience here in the States.;)

China is a magnificent place. As are its peoples.:) It's a shame so few Americans ever get to visit.:(

Is the lady in the red shirt washing pig intestines? That is what it looks like to me.

Beautiful bamboo! I think the USDA still has a regulation against importing live moso bamboo into the USA (invasive species that spreads via rhyzomes). That's too bad since it is such a fine lumber bamboo. I seem to recall that it can get up to 12" (30 cm) or more across.

What's the name of the "knife" cutting into the bamboo? Looks like it could be made into a spear easily.
