I posted this yesterday in the general forum, but it might be appropriate to put it here, too.

Today I picked up a framelock from Ray, what he calls a mini Jasmine. The blade is just a hair under 3", S35VN.

And with the knife that is now being displaced from my pocket

As expected, it has Ray's exceptional fit and finish and spotless blade grind. The action is very smooth.

As I regularly visit Ray, I get to see many of the knives that he makes, and I am impressed by how consistent his quality is.

Thanks for posting the pics.

Thanks Dr. Heelhook for the compliment.

I really want to start making fancier folders. Maybe with bolsters and more dressy materials. I think I'll do that next, just as soon as I find the time.

nice. Ray's work has progressed a lot over the last couple years. I remember when he made his first slippy...about a year after I asked him if he was going to keep making them and he said he was going to concentrate on fixed blades. I'm glad he changed his mind....

Very cool! congrats.

I have one of the larger versions and I love it, superb knife.

Will there be any more mini's in the future Ray?

Russ, I've enjoyed making the smaller pocket knives lately. Yes, I'll be making more mini's.

I ordered one just like this because I lik it so much. I have a chisel grind tanto by Ray and it is easily the smoothest knife I have including my seb and um. Thanks for posting pics of this beauty

Thanks Nathan. That was the only tanto, chisel tipped folder I have ever done. I'm glad you're enjoying it.
