Who has gotten a chance to check out Ray Laconico's slipjoints? I have one of his Kephart fixed blades, and am really happy with it. Thinking about a slipjoint from him. Right now he's offering micarta and O1 on his models. Clip points and Nessmuk blades seem to be what has been offered so far.

I had one of his early Nessmuk inspired slipjoints with brass liners, an O1 blade and Black paper micarta scales. The fit, finish etc were amazing and if you think the prices are good now, you'd never believe what I gave for this one...unfortunately I parted with it because I wasn't too keen on how I figured the blade would stain from field dressing deer. I wish now I would have kept it and not worried about it:o I was razor sharp!!!

Since I get to drop by his house regularly, I have handled a number of his slipjoints before they were shipped to their new owners. They are very well made, Ray is a perfectionist. If I weren't about to lose my job, I would own one myself.

They sure do look great! That guy is so talented. I'd love to see him move toward more traditional patterns and natural handle materials for his slipjoints.

I like what he is doing, very nice and clean. I think he does have great talent, he can do slips, definitely can do fixed blades, and now looks like his liner locks will take off too. Jack of all trades.
