Hey guys. A couple of months back, Mark Wohlwend and I decided it would be fun to do a colaboration knife designed by one of you guys. We picked the design by Matt mainly because we really liked it's simplicity. Well, after much slacking on my part, they are finally done. They aren't a perfect copy of the design by Matt but they're close. I never do anything that exact anyway. They differ in the ricasso/guard/plunge line area.. Both blades are 1095, 3 3/4" long, 1/8" thick. One has black canvas and the other has green and natural burlap for scales.

Let me know what you guys think...

Great work ... I personally like the one with green and natural burlap scales

oh my.. those are nice... great job guys.... i really like the nice simple design..

Those are fantastic-looking knives. I think I lean, and that is slightly, to the top one with the burlap as well. Great work - all 3 of you.

I forgot to mention another difference. The burlap scales are 3/8" thick and the canvas is 1/4".

I think they are better than I thought they could be! The plunge area definitely looks better now that you applied your knifemaker's eye to it. Having the edge come even further back is never a bad thing. It is hard to tell but the handles look pretty fat too which is great. I am also glad to see the little relief cuts on the scales to allow the "chest lever grip".

For those interested, here is the original sketch:

Ray, you and Mark, definitely need to do some more collaborating! Both of you do great work.

Those are fantastic! I'm leaning towards the one in black canvas...it seems to have a tiny bit more belly, and less drop at the ricasso. Great looking knives!
