Is it better than polishing?
I have Fat Carbons on my table and polished them, but I'm not satisfied. One day they are awesome and the next they're not. I have read that they need some protection. Is lacquer a valid solution and if yes, which one to target?

Joe try gel coat for cars
most C.F is laid up like fiberglass... they put a heavy gel coat in the mold/form/whatever and build up to the thickness with more layers
as you shape it you can cut through the gel coat finish... i have some old C.F like this and it is a way i choose weather i will use it or not...
if i have to re gel coat it to me that means they just made it pretty to sell and not think about the poor bastard trying to build something from it..

I would not use lacquer or a clear coat maybe you’re just not sanding enough? Carbon fiber is very abrasive so it will kill sand paper much faster than wood or micarta. I’ve worked with the space coal stuff a few times and it polished up very well.

So back to elbow grease with 2k grit until gloss and polish more? I can work it out if a know the goal can be met. When wet it's freaking awesome. I want that gloss to be.
