This one is off to Mike Sastre for a Southern Comfort sheath.

It has a 10.5 in blade of 1080 and L6 at 176 layers.

The guard is misc scrap damascus and the handle is elk with an ironwood buttcap.

This is is very light and quick...just what the new owner wanted.

Greg,
Would you give me a little break down on how you produced this fine pic. I do my own photos but I've never been satisfied.

Greg, that is a real beauty. I can always tell your knives from the clip... they have a lot of character.

Fred.....basically just laid it on a rock in the backyard and took the pic :D

I look for an overcast day so the sunshine won't glare on the blade.

The pic really should be better...the damascus looks much better in person....the daylight is washing the pattern out.

I saw this one in person at a knife seminar in the Colorado Rockies. Mike Sastre just finished making a sheath for it. It was damn nice. Sastre had one of
the Covington hammer hawks with him it was also a sweet piece. Now I'm hooked! I have to get a Covington Bowie.

Sweet !!! I can now safely call these classic "Covingtons" . Not what I had imagined for ladder pattern - but looks beautiful - very bold pattern. Jason.
