I wanted to get some opinions on if this would work. I have scratched up the FRN* handle a bit on my Ladybug 3 from trying to open beer bottles. I keep the knife in my pocket, and not on my keys. I was wondering if you guys thought the FRN* material would hold up to opening bottles if I made the following mod:

Basically I am cutting a notch out of the handle near the lanyard/keychain hole, but I'm not positive that 1) the FRN* would hold up or 2) it would open beer bottles well. You all think there's a decent chance that this would work?

*Changed "G10" to "FRN". Thx yablanowitz.

First, that handle material is Fiber Reinforced Nylon (FRN), not G-10 fiberglass. It is quite a bit more flexible than G-10, so it may not work at all, or it may just wear out quickly. I wouldn't do it, but it's your knife, not mine.

My fault. Thanks for the info and opinion. I was thinking of ordering a PocketToolX Brewzer and attaching it to the back of the knife as a lanyard, but I'd rather not do that if I had the choice.

A beer bottle cap will cut into FRN and chip G-10. I've done it. I'd suggest carrying an opener on your keychain.
