I just got the Ladyfinger in the mail from the fiddleback friday and GOD...is that the perfect knife for my hand. I'm wandering the house with it...damn hand won't let the thing go.

I have the Kephart and a Bushfinger also and I loved the feel of those but this Ladyfinger is perfect.

So...question to the community:

I know Andy has certain aesthetic lines he keeps in many of his models. My Kephart and bushfinger have very similar handles (though slight changes). Does any other model follow the Ladyfinger handle? Hiking buddy?

I want my next one to be a smaller knife. Hiking buddy, bushboot, karda... If there's another model following Andy's choices with the Ladyfinger handle... that one is next on my list.

I'll post some pics if my hand will drop the knife for 2 minutes to pick up a camera.

All three models you listed have palm swell style 4.5" long handles. The Ladyfinger is the slimmest spine to edge by far though. I need more 411 to give you any kind of good answer.

The Ladyfinger is one of the models I have left the sway in the spine that was prevalent in my early models. Is that what sets this one off for you, or is it just the thickness of the scales?

Answers from the man himself!

It's definitely the sway that seems to contour the knife for me... it naturally puts my hand in the position I like like to use a knife like this in.

It's mostly the fact that I've got small hands. The scale thickness / width is probably part of this since this lady finger was 5/32 and my Kephart and Bushfinger are both 1/8th....which is always a hard combination to find in makers since I like thicker blade stock but smaller handles.

There's a thread by Maw on the second page about fiddleback model comparisons that helped me out:

The ladyfinger handle definitely has a unique profile in comparison to the others. I might try a bushboot next since it has that gentle slope in the handle spine profile that kinda follows the ladyfinger lines.
