Good afternoon,

I have been drooling over laguioles for ages with the idea of getting one as a new edc.

However being in the UK im restricted to a 3" or less non locking blade. Most sites only give the closed lengths of laguiole knives.

Im drawn to the fontenille pataud 11cm knife, the blade length given is 9.5 cm approx. The ricasso on it looks quite substantial however so im wondering if the cutting edge is actually in the 3inch range? I dont mind if its a fraction over, but dont want to seem like im taking the pi** if im ever stopped by the police.

Hope someone can cast some light.
Cheers

With the sizes you are listing the ricasso would have to be about 3/4" long. That's quite long for the knife with a 3" blade. My Laguiole has a blade OA length of 3 7/8" with a cutting edge of 3 9/16" The ricasso is only about 7/16". There are sites that give the OA length and the blade length. You might want to compare with the one you are interested in. Hope this helps some what.
