Laguiole knife vertical play

Just received a Fontenille Pataud Laguiole knife ( pic ) from lagiole-imports.com, and there seems to be an inordinate amount of vertical play with the blade when it's folded. When the knife is in the folded position, if I simply pick it up by the top (spine) part of the blade, about 1/2 of the blade comes out of the handle, leaving the tip quite exposed. In fact, there is very little resistance when opening the blade fully, though it does lock up tightly. Apparently the blade wasn't pinned tight enough? Seems unacceptable for a $209 knife.

I do have another Fontenille Pataud Laguiole from the same sellers, and the blade is fine.

I will send it back, but it's disappointing. Any thoughts on this sort of issue are welcome.

There is a gap between the blade tang and the spring!! It's not the pin!!
And it's not good!! Send it back and demand a different knife!!

Thanks. The problem is immediately noticeable, which means it was ignored by both the factory and the sellers.
