Just got one of these and thought I'd share a few pictures. The balance from the nontypical taper on the 5160 steel, and handle ergonomics add up to a knife that will deliver a powerful chop with little perceived effort. One of the nicest handle shapes I've tried, though I have yet to do a long chopping session with it. A nice package for a ABS MS user knife.

I really like that one!

What kind of handle material?

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

I've got one of these too. Lots of fun to swing around. Jerry makes a great knife.

That is a great user. All of Jerry's knives are wicked sharp.

The handle is a teak wood with a nice rough finish. Grippy without hurty.

I would like to hear your thoughts on how it performs once you try chopping with it. Does that knife have the tuning fork designed into it?

Hi !
That's a fantastic knife you buy !
I've got one too but mine has a black textured micarta handle... Yes, those models have the tuning fork into it, you can feel it when you hit the back of the blade, at nearly 1/3 of the tip...
As far as i test it, it must be one of the best performer i've seen (and have)... "NIB" sharpness was really impressive (shaving arm's hair easily...) and the balance of the blade is really adapted for chopping tasks...
For the price, you can't go wrong and, Mr Lairson is really nice person : it was a pleasure for me to deal with him (as French, international deal are sometimes complicated, especially considering the shipping method...) and of course, i was more than impressed when i receive the knife ! :D

That handle looks like it has a ton of control in a couple of grip configs. The blade looks entirely too purposeful.

What's not to like...!!??? :p

That is a really sweet chopper, and it looks like you wouldnt have any hesitations about using it. Nice!

That definitely looks like a good working tool. What is the cost of that knife?
