Lakeland Fl. show / anybody going

A once a year event, have gone to the last several as my interest in blades has increased and time allowed. Gator Cutlery Club, 22nd annual show. This year its stepped up from the conv. room at Holiday Inn to the Lakeland Center. Three days, Fri,Sat,Sun. Anybody got any idea how big it should be. I'm planning Friday at this point since I have work scheduled for Sat. Who's gonna be there, hope to see some faces to put to these enames.

I've been telling folks I know that have an interest, I hope they get a crowd, though perhaps not quite as tight as at the H inn the last cpl. years. You needed a shoehorn there.

Was hoping to see you, wish I could plan on Sat. but my choice was to do Fri. or Sun. and I prefer to do things sooner than later. I understand there's going to be a Sat. nite auction, though know nothing about it. I plan to do show mostly for 'educational' purposes, but who knows what I might see that tempts me.

I've told my dad and we're rolling together, will be a fine day whether we score on any blades or not. Kinda like fishin, great just to be out there enjoying yourself, bringing something home is icing on the cake.

I'm sure I'll at least take a few items for 'tradin' purposes.

btw, met a maker of note at the last Lakeland gun show, Larry Dougherty, Homestead Fl. Doing it fulltime and I don't mean 'hobby' full time or 'supplemental' full time. Making his living on his blades. Should've bought one but caught him at end of my rounds and I was close to tapped for the day. Fine gentleman as are most I've met that pursue this craft.

Freemon, this Fri, Sat, Sun? At the convention center? I didn't even know about it. Guess i'm slipping. If so you can count me in. Probably on Sat or Sun as I work Friday. Good to hear about it. I went to a knife show at the center a year or two ago but nothing there since. Let me know if its this week, thanks
 
I am there, of course. Saturday. I will probably be wearing my red Emerson polo again. It is easy to pick out.

Just to clarify for Salamander and others...YES...This weekend.
Fri., Sat., Sun.....9-5
Lakeland....I-4 exit 17, follow signs to Lakeland Center.
It's the only real knife show I've been to. I do gun/knife shows on a fairly reg basis but this one is ALL knives. Last couple years its been packed into a convention room at a Holiday Inn, this year first time at the bigger digs. Neil says all tables reserved, this is a pretty big place which should mean an excellent show.

Thanks freemon, I will be there on Sat. I live only thirty minutes from there. I'll probably wear a nautica shirt and jeans oh and don't forget a nike hat. Jeff, later.
