Lambert Tactical Art
Hello Friends. I thought this knife was worthy of a review/viewing as it has to be one of, if not the coolest tactical folders I've ever owned. This is a Kirby Lambert dress Hooligan model that was aquired at the TKI(Tactical Knife Inventational) show in Las Vegas this past February. Some of you may know Kirby's knives. He apprenticed under Greg Lightfoot, another supurb tactical knife maker. Kirby's work keeps getting better and better, and his knives are very sought after and he now has a 3-5yr backlog. Depending on which model you choose from he uses either standard washers or IKBS(for his flippers). I apologize in advance if my photos aren't the best, I used my Iphone to photograph.
Specs:
Blade- 3 1/2"(bolster to tip) Chad Nichols "Blackout" exotic SS Damascus- Double ground
Bolsters- Black Timascus
Scales- Lightening Strike Carbon Fiber
Pocket Clip- Mokuti
Liners- Titanium(thick) anodized then bead blasted
Thumb studs- Tritium inlayed(both sides)
Standoffs- Blue anodized(2)
The fit and finish of this supurb folder is outstanding. Strong lock up with absolutely no blade play, smooth, and the detent is solid. Ergos of the knife make it feel like you are shaking hands with an old friend.
Ok... on to the photos...
The black Timascus bolsters are insanely good looking. This was the last piece Kirby had. He told me this was a one-of-a-kind knife. Notice the seamles marrage from scales to bolster, decorated pivot and tritium inlayed studs.
The lock top cutout and non-lock side are contoured and anodized a bronze color.
The jimping on the blade top gives great purchase but is not aggressive enough to hurt. The stop pin is black SS.
Blue anodized twin standoffs. I love the open back design for ease of cleaning.
Mokuti pocket clip has the screws going into the Ti frame. The clip itself secures the knife to the pocket very well. No fear of loosing this puppy.
Kirby's grinds are wicked and sic. Left side has a piercing tip for extra strength then hollowed for deep cutting ability.
The reverse side holds a harpoon tip, again for piercing, but maintains the thickness of the steel.
Closed, the blade basically disappears into the handle.
Sexy knife art.
Size comparison next to a large Sebenza and a Microtech Mini Matrix custom. Any maker that includes a custom made guitar pick with their knife is OK in my book!
Thx to all for looking.
