Hey to everyone,

I'm just curios.

Has anyone of you guys been to the Lameco AllStars Tribute Seminar in LA??

PLEASE make a little review for me. Unfortunately I wasn't able to be there.

Best to you in Martial Arts

Unfortunately I wasn't able to be there.

Christof

Me neither!:(
However, Guro Roger Agbulos told me they will try making one the next year too, so I certainly hope of making it.
However, judging by the featured instructors, and the presentation schedule that I saw, it must have been a blast.
I would also like to hear some comments from people who actually were there, especially some of the visitors, i.e. if they liekd instructors' presentation, what they learned, atmosphere...
Guro Dave Gould put his review n the forums on both his own web site and fmatalk forums.

Gentlemen,

I attended both days of the Lameco All Stars Tribute and what Guro Dave Gould stated on his review is accurate. Those who did not get a chance to attend basically missed out. Many of the SOG were present and those who instructed did an excellent job. The people who attended were very friendly and they were there to learn. The instructors present were generous in answering people's questions and sharing their knowledge. On the second day of the event, we got the opportunity to do some hand sparring with everyone. I even got a chance to spar with people from other groups and some of the guros in the event. During the sparring sessions, we even got coaching from Grandmaster Christopher Ricketts and his son Bruce and the SOG members present. It was truly a good experience and not bad for a first time event. Two days of hard training, learning and making new friends.

I hope they do it again next year and I hope my brothers here can join us as well. By the way, my name is Raymond and I am a student of Guro Roger Agbulos. I am new to this forum, but thought I would respond to the request about feedbacks on the LAMECO Tribute.

Thank you all.

Raymond

Hello Raymond,

thanks for your little review.

What I would really appreciate would be a little bit more detailed review.

Who teached what?? How long??

Best to you

Christof,

Let me try to recount the weekend for you. Forgive me if it's not as detailed as you like, but here is my attempt at it.

Each instructor had about 2 hours to present and share their knowledge.

Guro Dave Gould went over the footwork, feints and enganyos with a knife.
Guro Dino Flores went over sword techniques
Guro Steve Grody went over distancing
Guro Roger Agbulos went over knife defense
Guro Felix Valencia went over more knife defense
Grandmaster Christopher Ricketts and Bruce Ricketts went over the basics of Kali Illustrisimo.

Other SOG member who did not present were there to assist on the drills and answer questions. It was a weekend full of learning. It might be too much knowlege to absorb in such a short time, but it is a good experience and would recommend it to other FMA practitioners. All I can say is that even if you learned only a fraction of the knowledge shared and presented, it would be very beneficial.

The weekend was not a seminar where you listen and watch. It was very interactive. The materials were presented to us and after that we try it with other people present and while doing so we are being coached by many Guros.
I was very tired and battered from the weekend, but I had a lot of fun. There were several hours of sessions and I enjoyed that very much. I got a chance to spar with so many different people and it was a learning experience because each individual is unique in their movements. Also met a lot of nice cool people and made new friends.

Sorry for the late entry, but you all missed a great time.

There is supposed to be another event next year.

All the instructors had something to offer..

Standouts were Agbulos, Flores,Rickett's, and Grody.

Lameco is not dead as long as those that were there to train and became instructors still stay true to the material and still feel brotherhood and purpose. It was a great gathering of mindful, helpful and talented individuals. Enough said...
