I was very saddened to hear that these gorgeous stainless machetes are no longer being made - IMO that really sucks!

I have been giving mine tons of use and it quickly turned into my favorite machete. But I always assumed that I could get another one if needed. It now seems that I was wrong (wish I'd bought two when it was possible).

Now I am going to have to be more careful with the one that I have.

For nostalgia (this is mine when it was still pretty new):

Interesting ... I used to own a japanese knock off of that design... same shape, dimpled handles and sheath (minus the logo patch.) It was hollow ground and slightly thicker than 1/8"... but I did find the grips rather slippery.

The HIRO machete was hollow ground too. Not to my tastes, but it's too bad they're disco'ing it. :)

I thought about getting one of those before I got the Fiddleback machete.

I have been considering one of these just because....

Skip that one, and get your self the Parang XL or the small Parang. Its an awesome tool!
The small one comes with a cool PSK also.

Here's the PSK with my contents in it, I kept all but a few items from the kit, but I put mostly my stuff in the PSK..I customized it to my liking in other words.

That parang does look awesome, I have liked that since I saw a review on BCUK last year I think, and I checked them out at Blade not realizing they came with the kit (which I like those boxes too), but the more I think about it the more I want that and this one to go with it :).

Found from IC-CUT(Maker)
SUS6A stainless steel, 208.75 dollars
It doesn't display "Discontinued (生産終了)" and "Sold out (完売しました)", so you can inquiry Marukin
But probably it is currently out of stock
