I haven’t had a lot of luck searching for comparisons on this. I see that Fallkniven is discontinuing 3g in the F1. I wonder why…and I am curious if it is because lam cos is better or cheaper to produce. Anyone with knowledge on this one?

Thanks!

According to the DBK guys at least, it's chippy for its intended use (outdoors, bushcraft etc). CoS is more forgiving. 3g is dope for edc from the sound if it.

They are also introducing the F1 in VG7 along with Elmax.

My personal experience with 3G (I have two) and VG10 (I have two) is that the SG2 in 3G is no more "chippier" than VG10. In fact I'd say less. YMMV.

Thanks for the responses. A regular F1 in Elmax sounds like a good combo. I don’t particularly care for the F1 Pro or the F1X. Thanks.

My F1 in COS has been great. Not chippy at all (although I don't stupid shit with it), and still easy to strop back to an excellent edge.
