Wow, I love it! My fave of yous.

Looks like a lava flow over steel, and the handle material is fantastic!

Very nice.....the laminated area looks 3-D, very clean and a great handle. :)

Really like it. Handle and steel really mesh well to me.
Mighty nice.

Very nice looking knife.
I would have expected the 1095 core to etch dark not bright......did you polish it back or??
Darcy:)

You really nailed both the shape and the steel, Mike.

The handle shaping is really turning out first rate.

The damascus ALMOST looks like Wootz, and that is a very interesting thing....there is nothing that I can add to the already great commentary....except....always like to see a thong hole on a piece like this, even if it isn't apparent.

The core did etch darker, some final rubbing with some 2000 grit polished it out.
Thanks

Very Nice! Love that blade. Turned out great and the handle is amazing, both the wood and shape.

The blade is just phenomenal. But the handle shaping is what gets me on this one. It looks super comfortable! Great work!

Now and then a knife comes along which completely dominates. This knife comes alive.

Mike has been making them better and better and better. Wow!

I approve this thread! :)

Mike, I love it. There is nothing not to like about this one. The spalted hackberry really complements the blade. Great job once again !
