I am not sheath expert so far I made two, but very excited about it so I decide to share this with you guys. I found it not really complicated and last one I made in spending yestarday after noon and today before noon - one day total. And if I can do anybody can also do this even better,

This is what I am talking about:

All materials and tools are very available - best place to get leather and things for leatherwork is your local Tandy Leather Factory store.

It will be 5 layers, but first I made 2,3 and 4 layers,

Sheath-20.jpg

Cut out from 3" belt internal sides. It should create inside area for the handle pretty tight to hold knife by only traction, but also allows to take it out when needed.

For core layer I use 1/2" wide belt, cuting out left and right sides, with hook for guard. At the end I sand them out so 2 and 4 layers will be close together near blade tip.

Pin them all toghether and mark holes with modified fork.

Then drill one side with drimel using drill press with #61 drill bit and sew it. Then drill and sew other side. The cut out external layers and make holes in them using anwil through drilled holes in internal layers.

Before sewing I sand sides of internal layers and make holes for lace in external base layer.

Then sew them - this is most hard job, even drilled holes wide enogh to sew trough them twice I had to use my Leatherman to take nidle though them sometimes. After this construction is done:

Sheath hold knife pretty well.

Now it is time for fun - painting:

What to paint is up to you, I first did kind of urban camo, but for second decided to make hunters camo or something - here it is:

Do not foget to applay carnauba creme finish.

I got a lot of fun doing it and honestly - nobody around offers anything like this to my knowledge.

Thanks, Vassili.

This sheath keep knife in just on friction - ease to use and simple, but need special attention when you making tham. It is very secure and allows easy to carry it tip-up

To attach it to the belt verticalli, horizontaly, tip-down, tip up or arctic way - hanging free on the cord near knee paracord is used. I found one wich match color pllete I used on sheath.

and horizontally

I have enough hole pairs to make it as flexible as possible.
