Hello, so for a while I've been carrying a carbon steel mora, use it for building small shelters, butchering deer, food prep. But I was wondering if their are any advantages to a laminated steel blade vs a carbon steel one, or any disadvantages.

Thanks!!!!
:D

The laminated ones are more likely to bend (but unlikely to break) and should hold an edge longer as the core is harder. They are also more likely to chip but that shouldn't be a significant problem if you use them as you describe (no batoning through cinder blocks...). I use my laminated Frost Mora knives for wood carving mainly and have had no problems. I use (abuse) my carbon steel Moras for the really grotty stuff like cutting turf, slicing up tires, etc.
