If you're looking for a compact EDC ballpoint pen to put into a pocket (not requiring a clip), this post might prove interesting to you.

I recently acquired a LAMY pico, a small ballpoint pen.

This tiny pen extracts its tip and extends the body to the size of a regular pen when you push the butt end.

It writes evenly and the tip is very thin, so notes almost looks like you wrote them with a quality biro.

Despite being a very simple design, the body is very comfortable to hold.
The body appears to be made of anodized aluminum, it has a grippy, slightly rough (but even) finish. I wouldn't recommend getting the more inexpensive "Platinum" version as it actually looks cheaper and is less grippy than the regular models (available in a variety of colors).

neat looking but I dont think I coudl use anything other than a Pilot Hi-Tec C anymore.

sorry to dig up a semi-old thread, but i just have to comment that i LOVE this pen. i purchased a new one when someone lost my fisher space pen and it's really a beautiful pen. i can use it with one hand as opposed to having to pull the two ends apart on the bullet. i had a problem with the action on mine, i sent it back to lamy and they sent me a *brand new pen*. lifetime warranty, great cs. the other pen that i just got that i also like is the retro 51 tornado. great looking pen, writes well, the only problem i have with it is i fell asleep on my bed with it in my pocket and somehow the tip extended and got ink everywhere. it's a shame, but if you treat it with care it's also a very cool pen. i've bought pens from these guys before and had good customer service. by the way, the lamy doesn't have pressurized ink like a bullet, but it seems to write smoother than they do, with no "blobbing".

Pete
