I am not far from you... I'm in Knoxville and this is something that I have been into for a little while now. Get the wild edibles app free, that will help. Or you can email me with any specifics. Also a good color book will help. I have been looking for one for local plant life myself. Another thing, go to bushcraft usa, there are a lot of knowledgeable people there
