Any opinions? I'm thinking about buying myself a christmas present. As much as I would love to just buy both, I've only got the budget for one. Also taking into account the fact that it's the end of the college semester and I'm losing my mind, I'm feeling rather conflicted.

What have your experiences with these knives been?

i have a Landi MPS.. i have owned it for a few years now, and i must say, it is a handy little knife and see's a lot of use... the size of it is perfect for most genereal task's.. the handle is nice and fits my (M) hands very comfortably.. i also think it would make a great EDC fixed blade..
i actually used to have an olser PSK knife, but ended give it to a friend as a gift..

John's knives are looking really nice these days and i'm sure what ever knife you choose, it'll serve you well...

cheers... Mike

I had his PSKK and MPX. What will you be using the knife for, and how do you want to carry the blade? It will help dictate which you should get.

Pitdog, that knife looks awesome!! Unfortunately I'm a poor college student, and it's a bit over my budget.

I'm mostly planning on EDC carry and general use, but I spend a lot of time in the woods, and do a lot of hiking and backpacking, so it'll see some use there too.

Mtnfolk Mike, you present a compelling argument in picture form... I like the looks of it :D

I think the MPS fits the EDC bill a little better than the PSK, I think the PSK fits the backpacking bill a little better

if your thinking neck carry for EDC, the nod goes to the PSK

both great knives, both would do well :)

I'm leaning towards the MPS... I have a RAT Izula, and I feel like a smaller blade than that would start to hinder the knife a little bit for my purposes.

The PSK is a great knife because the handle sized quite generously while keeping the profile slim and the blade short. It behaves like a bigger knife then it looks.

Either would be a good choice.

My Landi PSK rides on my belt daily (and even as I type this.) It's handle size vs. it's short handy blade is really it's strong suit, and it serves me for daily tasks as well as a woodsbumming back-up.

Here's a recent pic of the PSK (lower right) with some other blades.

When I first got it, before the patina formed. The scales are natural micarta.

On the belt, in Landi's leather sheath.

I don't that there are many folks that would have both as they are pretty close in stature, but if no one posts a pic up maybe email John and see if he can

I really like my Landi PSK. Can't speak to the other. John makes a great knife though, and the PSK is easy to EDC.

I've decided on the MPS. The PSK looks great, but I'd like the extra blade length. Thanks for all the input guys!! W&SS never fails to come through
