I used my PSK to cut-up enough heavy appliance cardboard to almost fill my 64 gallon recycling container last night. I cut the boxes into 3"x6" to 4"x8" squares and needed to use a lot force to cut through the cardboard, although the knife was very easy to control and it never felt like I was in any danger of losing control of it. Took almost an hour and had to restrop it 3 times to get the job done; each restropping was 20x on loaded canvass and 20x on leather to finish. Functioned only "OK", but this is not a job the PSK was meant for.
The PSK is still a great knife, but definitely not meant for heavy duty applications. The blade & edge held up relatively well, but there is not enough of it to cut or saw through rough materials and even a slightly bigger knife would have an advantage over it.
The full sized grip did not rub or create any "hot spots" on my hand though, so that is an indicator of well thought-out design.
When finished with this chore, I stropped one final time and it was 'good to go' for use in the kitchen, helping to carve-up some tri-tip and thinly slice some nectarines.
I really like my PSK, and it can perform far beyond its size if needed, but I think I'll stick to small chores and wood carving with mine from now on.
