This PSK from John Landi just arrived about an hour ago and I'm very impressed with it right out of the package. The slim micarta scales have a nice grippy texture and the handle seems a little longer than you usually find on a knife of this size (4") making for a very secure feel. The 2 1/2" drop point blade, which came hair popping sharp, makes this knife a perfect size for EDC. Fit and finish is very good.

Just got mine from that same batch. Already came sharp, but 5 minutes with my leather strops put a polish to the edge. Been using it for chores inside and outside the house for a week. Fits the hand well, feels like I'm using my extended thumb for cutting & detail work.

Going to cut-up some furniture cartons for the recycler tonight, will see how the edge holds-up after extended cutting.

that's a cool looking little knife... John does some great work... they seem to be getting better and better too... i am loving all of these kitchen knives he's doing now....

In Brazil I use a simple mnemonic device to explain the knife. Knife in Portuguese is "Faca" which stands for Forte, Afiada, Curto, Aqui. In English that would be Strong, Sharp, Short, and Here, as in don't leave it at home. I think that knife fills the bill. Mac

I got one of the natural canvas ones from the same batch. John does amazing work.

Had my eye on one of those, but with holiday season coming up,I'm cash strapped skint!

Very nice looking and practical knife there. How's the sharpening?

I had one and it was beautifully put together and very sharp, but I found that the handle was just a hair small for my hands. It was also so nice and pretty that I didn't want to use it. That design is great looking, though. The new ones in carbon fiber look amazing!

I like the size of the handle for the size of the blade. Very cool

I just got one of his utility knives, gonna post pics sometime, great pics brother!!!!!!!!!

Cool. I missed out on this batch, but ordered one in natural micarta. Can't hardly wait!

I used my PSK to cut-up enough heavy appliance cardboard to almost fill my 64 gallon recycling container last night. I cut the boxes into 3"x6" to 4"x8" squares and needed to use a lot force to cut through the cardboard, although the knife was very easy to control and it never felt like I was in any danger of losing control of it. Took almost an hour and had to restrop it 3 times to get the job done; each restropping was 20x on loaded canvass and 20x on leather to finish. Functioned only "OK", but this is not a job the PSK was meant for.

The PSK is still a great knife, but definitely not meant for heavy duty applications. The blade & edge held up relatively well, but there is not enough of it to cut or saw through rough materials and even a slightly bigger knife would have an advantage over it.

The full sized grip did not rub or create any "hot spots" on my hand though, so that is an indicator of well thought-out design.

When finished with this chore, I stropped one final time and it was 'good to go' for use in the kitchen, helping to carve-up some tri-tip and thinly slice some nectarines.

I really like my PSK, and it can perform far beyond its size if needed, but I think I'll stick to small chores and wood carving with mine from now on.
