Hello Everyone,
I am working to make a langsax for Manlicher on this forum. He wants a blade of around 22" x 1.25" x .25" with a little distal taper.
Here is what I have so far. I put a quick etch so you can see the pattern. This is just 220 grit on belt sander, so it is going to look a lot better with hand finish. I will be heat treating and beginning on handle and fittings.
Walnut handle, walnut scabbard, damascus fittings to come ...
I got a hydraulic press recently, and it has really opened some doors. Now, I need to sell some work to get the money back. Let me know if you are interested in high-layer count or multi-bar construction on seaxes, kindjals, or simillar work. I am in a bit of an economic bind (like many people) because enrollment is down and I was not able to work this summer. Yes, even prof's lose employment sometimes.
thanks for looking.
