Let me start off by saying that I have no relation to this website other than the fact that I stumbled on it today
I have always wanted to learn German, but I never did well in school type language classes and I have never left the USA. So I wanted to teach myself. I looked up Rosetta Stone and they wanted $200+ to get started!
I was looking online for free language sites and I ran across www.livemocha.com. Now it looked to good to be true for me, so I signed up using my junk e-mail and gave it a shot. So far it seems to be pretty good for a free site. It reminds me of Rosetta Stone and Skype/chatroom rolled into one. Now the site is in it's beta stage so I can't vouch for reliability or if they will stay free, but this site is now on my FireFox bookmark toolbar...right next to BF, THR and Bali-Extreme
