First off, thanks Tony for hooking these makers up with your patterns, knowledge & expertise,it drives these guys for perfection, you're the man !
OK,I asked Brent Cramer (Blades & Grace here on BF's) for some good looking stag, but I told him I wanted it to flare at the butt, but not too big,for the pocket, but also straight type bark & on the smooth side if he could do that.
Brent was fabulous to work with & he felt confident that he could also put a Yukon (aka Gimp,I think) shield & do it killer.
He said he could do this in CPM 154 ss for the blade. The blade grinds are outrageous & the whole knife is drool worthy. Brent uses a pivot bushing, and the liners are mill relived. This is a snapping, stout stag killer folder.I got right back on his list.
I did these pics off my new lap top & I hope they look good for you to see.The sun was still high but I couldn't wait any longer.
Check it out, this is the full 3-3/4" version & fits in my mitt really nice!
I'd like to take this time & add my opinion.I too love production knives, but this experience ,to have a knife such as this built from scratch by a craftsman, meet & discuss, one on one, can't be duplicated from a production knife. From the mouths of much more experienced custom knife fella's that i know , never was there a better time to order & acquire a custom handmade slipjoint.
Thank You Brent,
-Vince
