Many choices, but for me its the cheap stuff. I found the udder cream at a couple of places, but american spice was the cheapest by $.50-1.00

Actually I didn't. I'm second guessing myself. The lanolin cream at the top will probably work. You might want to try it on the chakma first. I've found that the higher the lanolin content, the more it tends to bring out the grain in the horn.
 
Most any supermarket with a baby section with bottles and nipples and formula will usually carry some form of lanolin for nursing mothers.

I got a 2 ounce tube of brand name "Lansinoh" that claims to be " the worlds's purest lanolin". Also says "Soothes, heals & protects dry cracked nipples - Safe for baby, relief for mothers". comes in a lavender colored tube that stands on it's colored cap.

After trying it, I went back to the old favorite "Kama Sutra Pleasure Garden massage oil" with a bit of clove oil mixed in. Of course sometimes the wife insists on a full body massage which can lead to...
 
For local sources you might try farm & livestock supply.

Check ordering in bulk from local pharmacy.
 
At the pharmacy yesterday my wife found a tube of Lanolin Hydrous, for a little under 3 bucks. It's made by Fougera, a familiar company for medical stuff.

The lanolin hydrous is what I'm using even as we speak, on a carved Kumar Karda. I've used it in the past on other handles, with very good results.
 
I smeared some on my nose with very good results; I feel ten years younger.
