Thi steel hone (not a "sharpening steel" but a honing steel. These have been used for over a century for "laying back" the edge of edged implements. I, personally, have been honing knives on these units for more than fifty years. This steel is as good I have seen in more than sixty years of living. just honed six or seven knives and they're all fnished and ready to go to work.
