OK so after a lot of research decided to go with the
Lansky 4 Rod Gourmet Crock Stick Sharpener as I found it for only $16.xx
http://www.amazon.com/Lansky-Gourmet-Crock-Stick-Sharpener/dp/B001KN3OLI/
This is a returned 'used' item on Amazon, but in "Like New" condition which is supposed to be good enough to gift someone.
It's not the sort of thing that a warranty is useful for and as I am a Prime member shipping and returns are free if need be.
The main complaint with the these ceramic sharpening rods I've seen is that they are too short, but these are longer 9" rods so that should do the trick
Just curious if this seems like a good deal? I know I will likely need to do a little tweaking to get the rods to fit the block, no problem.
The goal of this set is that I don't need to buy anything else for a while, other than some leather strapping that is on the way from an Indiana leather specialist.
I am not going to need to be doing any heavy refinishing, just sharpening of various blades.
