Lansky diamond hones-worth it?

I've used a Lansky sharpener for years and really like the preset angles, ease and end results. My hones are showing wear and appear to be smooth/plugged. I clean them every time and use soap, water and comet. Have also tried brake cleaner recentley with no success. My question is: Will the diamond dust wear off anytime soon? Also, I shouldn't have a problem with them plugging up-right? Thanks for the help!
My sharporexia nervosa is beginning.

Hi, I'm also using a Lansky 4 Diamond hone set myself and I like it very much. After 6-7 years of very regular use the Stones are much smoother then they used to be but still do their job fine. I like the extra 15 minutes I now have to spend this helps me control my "sharpening nervosia".
The only problem I had with the diamond stones is that after years of use the plastic breaks where the brass insert is so that the "stone" can't be used anymore until you've glued the brass plug back and the plastic pieces also.
I never ever clean my stones with anything else then a few drops of honing oil.
Keep sharp, Bagheera

PS if you're nude and look in the mirror you'll most probably also see some wear and tear the same as the hones show after lots of use.
